Recalling the United Nations adoption of the ‘Human Rights Defenders Declaration’, the Euro-Mediterranean Foundation of Support to Human Rights Defenders was launched on December 9 2004 by the Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Network.
The Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Foundation is a specific contribution to the human rights dimension of the Barcelona Declaration and supports the United Nation Declaration on Human Rights Defenders, adopted by the General Assembly in resolution 53/144 of December 9, 1998.
